Boulder County Community Action Programs (CAP) is accepting nominations for its Multicultural Awards now through June 21.
CAP organized the first Multicultural Awards Banquet in 1989 to honor diverse Boulder County residents who have made major contributions in the areas of art, business, community service, education, government, health, science, youth and partners (White/ Anglo community members who promote social justice around race issues). That event marked the first county-wide recognition of the accomplishments of people of color. It has been growing in participation and scope ever since.
Winners will be honored at the 24th annual Multicultural Awards Banquet in the fall. Proceeds from the banquet provide scholarships for low income students to attend college. Last year $10,000 was given in scholarship monies.
The Camera is proud to sponsor the event and the awards. We love to give credit where credit is due, and our community is full of excellent candidates. Do your part and submit your nomination(s) to CAP by June 21. Visit bouldercounty.org/cs and click Community Action Programs in the left-hand navigation bar for a nomination form today.
