The Erie Historical Society is holding its annual Homestead Christmas this Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wise Homestead Museum (11611 Jasper Road, Erie). Admission, tours, and refreshments are free. The Red Hawk Elementary 5th Grade Tone Chime Choir will perform at 11 a.m.
If you’ve never visited the museum, this is a wonderful opportunity to look around the Wise Homestead, which dates back to 1869. The Western Victorian family farmhouse is one of the oldest frame houses in Boulder County. It was renovated and turned into a museum with the help of the original owner’s great-granddaughter and Erie resident Sarah Wise.
The Camera is pleased to sponsor the Erie Historical Society and the wonderful work it does to celebrate, communicate, and preserve the history of our area.
I’m an Erie resident myself and always look forward to Erie Historical Society events. My family and I enjoyed the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes (such delicious tastes) of Biscuit Day. I hope you’ll join us on Saturday for good hometown holiday fun at the Wise Homestead Museum.
